Wide Outs

Welcome back to my Rams blog. Today were going to focus on Wide Receivers, but before we get to that lets take a look at Rams news today. Mike Sando of ESPN reports that the Frerotte deal has fallen appart due to the Rams interest in possibly drafting a QB. There is still a chance that he could sign with them but only time will tell. I also want to address the last blog where I left Brock Berlin out of the QB question. I don't feel that Berlin will be anymore than a backup on this team but since he has been here longer he would be the QB ahead of Otis. Now on to the WR's.

As of right now the Rams receiving corps is a little scary. With the release of Torry Holt that leaves our depth chart at wide out looking like this:

1. Donnie Avery
2. Keenan Burton
3. Derek Stanley

With all three of these receivers going into their second year in the NFL the receiving corps is looking really young and inexperienced. The good new is though that Donnie Avery looked really good last season and Burton has shown some highlights of being a good receiver. The only problem I really see is that all of these receivers are good number 2 receivers but not so much number ones. This leads me to think that the Rams really need to address this problem in the draft. I think that with their second round pick the Rams should try and draft Kenny Britt out of Rutgers. He is a big, fast receiver that shows potential to be a number one in the NFl. By drafting Britt, the Rams would help fill the whole that they really need.
